In Detroit, the busiest hours are Friday and Saturday evenings and any night with a big game, when quoted delivery times can stretch past an hour; ordering before 5 p.m. or picking up yourself avoids the wait. Delivery radiuses are small, often two to five miles, and a minimum order plus a delivery fee is normal, with a tip of a few dollars for the driver on top. Lunch specials such as two slices and a drink, or a personal pie, are the cheapest way to eat at most shops across Michigan on weekdays. Toppings are priced per item and half-and-half pies are usually free to request. Gluten-free crusts and vegan cheese are increasingly common but often cost a few dollars extra, and cross-contact in a shared oven is standard unless the shop says otherwise.

I had to try more Detroit style pizza and I found this hidden gem in downtown. The waitress was very friendly and I like that fact this place had individual slices and I order the two slice combo. The pizza was very good and next time when I come back I’ll get a bigger box of pizza!

While on a day trip to Detroit hitting the casinos and checking out the city, we decided we had to try some REAL Detroit style pizza. I asked a random guy walking by where we should go, and without hesitation he said, “Niki’s.” It was only about a 5 minute walk, so we gave it a shot. The second we walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming and comfortable almost like sitting at a little street side café. Then we met our server, Rose, who was absolutely wonderful. Super friendly, smiling the whole time, and just the kind of person who makes you glad you stopped in. We told her we were out of towners looking for authentic Detroit-style pizza, and she gave us a couple recommendations. Now THIS is where it gets real. The pizza came out and DAMN… it was incredible. We ordered the Super and the BBQ Chicken pizza, and both were amazing. The crust was thick, soft, buttery, and perfectly crispy all at the same time. Every topping tasted unbelievably fresh, like it was picked that morning. Honestly, it was everything you could ask for in a pizza. I would make that drive again just for another slice. If you’re anywhere near Detroit, do yourself a favor and stop by Niki’s, ask for Rose, and grab

We had a great patio dinner at Niki’s. I had the lamb gyros and my family had the meat lovers pizza and pepperoni pizza. Everything was delicious! Would definitely go back.

Came here two years ago for our first ever detroit style pizza and it was good. Went yesterday and it was a ghost town, prices up, no love in the pizza and the waitress just didn't seem to care unfortunately. Won't be back

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Best Detroit-Style Pizza I’ve Ever Had — Period. If you grew up in Metro Detroit eating Buddy’s, Cloverleaf, or Loui’s, you need to try Nikki’s. It’s like stepping back in time to when pizza tasted real — better dough, richer sauce, real cheese, and that perfect corner crunch. Hands down the best square pizza I’ve had in 50 years of eating Detroit pizza. ⸻ Full Review: I’ve been eating pizza all over Metro Detroit for half a century — Buddy’s, Cloverleaf, Loui’s, Shield’s, you name it. I finally tried Nikki’s Pizza in Detroit, and honestly, it’s the best square pizza I’ve ever had. It reminded me of how pizza used to taste when I was a kid — before everyone started cutting corners with cheaper ingredients. The dough is exceptional: soft inside with a beautifully crisp, buttery crust. The sauce has that old-school depth and balance — not too sweet, not too salty, just perfectly seasoned. The cheese tastes real, rich, and properly melted into the corners the way it should. It’s like Cloverleaf but upgraded — better crust, better sauce, better cheese. You can tell there’s pride behind it. Nikki’s somehow brought back the taste I’ve been missing for decades. If yo
